Hair Tips To Celebrate the Season
Bouncy curves full of body, edgy punk, and beautiful tiny horses crop cuts comprise three of the summer's top hairstyle fashion trends, according to a celebrated hair stylist. After visiting the fashion shows in Paris, notable international ad campaigns like LVMH and Calvin Klein, and extremely famous celebrities like Rihanna, he continues, "Today's hairstyle cuts are always meant to be changed. Adapt them to your at work and personal goals. That, I think is the right way to approach beauty."
Pin-Up Girl
40's pin-up models like Betty Grable struck the perfect balance between sex appeal and girl-next-door , and that's the overall effect of this hair trend, says the artist. Start with soft body, created with a handy rollers, then brush through with a firm brush like a Mason Pearson to loosen the curls. Next, gently pull the top portion of the hair to the top of the head and secure loosely with plenty of volume on top.
Tip: Prep hair for roller sets with a professional hair care product that gives hair "grip" like K-PAK Thermal Design Foam. "This product is one of my favorites" says the artist. "It contains a very good setting agent that gives you hold, but it also lets you manipulate the hair." If hair is fine and needs even more "bite," try Texture Spray. It's lightweight, so it won't cause fine strands to collapse, but it provides plenty of style support. "Feel free to layer it on," adds the artist, "if you need more style strength."
Summer's Breezy Up and Away Do
"Many runways this season featuring simple looks", said the celebrity hairstylist . "When the hairstyle doesn't block the face," he says, "it instantly shows an innocent, young 'I had a great night's sleep' effect. Whenever I need to inject some some "je ne sais quoi" to a hairstyle, I pull it away from the face." Right now, he loves youthful, groomed ponies and buns, and what makes them particularly modern, he says, is the foundational texture. "Dry the hair so that it's smooth and polished, but with plenty of body and bounce," he advises. Another trendy touch? Use a small tail comb to create a deep side part before gathering up the hair. "Low side partings are sexy and strong!" he declares.
Hair Tip: Tame flyaways with K-PAK Protect & Shine Serum or Smoothing Balm, followed by K-PAK Protective Hairspray. Rub the balm into palms and run hands lightly over the surface of the hair.
